VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
Below is a brief description of the responsibility for each volunteer position available. 
 

Team Parent Coordinator The Team Parent Coordinator responsibilities include organizing a variety of activities which serve to provide the team with a ‘local’ contact for team specific and general information as well as supporting game day activities to ensure the event runs smoothly. This position works best with those who have access to a cell phone and e-mail. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Assisting with Hot August Night activities (2)
  • Assist coaches in contacting players for meetings, practice items, pizza night, Cal. Friday night games, etc. if and as needed.
  • Assign families and assist to coordinate bringing oranges, grapes and drinks for the team’s half-time break and (2) 7 lbs. bags of ice for the field water coolers on game days.
  • Assist the Parent Volunteer Coordinator by making reminder calls to team families that are scheduled to work during your team’s game.
  • Collect money for coaches gifts.

Spotter This person assists the announcer by providing them the play by plays and providing player names and reminders

Clock/Score Board Position involves starting and stopping the clock during our home games, as well as operating the score board from the booth. This activity requires careful watching of the field referees.

Mandatory Play Will work on the side-line with a person from the opposite team (home and away games). Use player list to place marks next to each player on the field for each play. Keep coaches informed to ensure each player gets the minimum # of total plays required for each game.

Chain Gang Will work on the side-lines moving markers up and down the field for plays during our home games.

Gate Duty This person will monitor the entrance and collect money for admission to home games. 2 people for each gate (back and front). Only players, coaches and certain level sponsors are admitted free. All parent volunteers pay to be admitted. Volunteer must be an adult over 18 years of age to work this position.  Only one person per family can work gate.

Snack Bar Preparation Volunteers will be cutting up food items and setting up the snack bar to have opened by 9 am for the start of the Bears home games. (No Children allowed in Snack Bar)

Snack Bar Will perform a variety of ‘kitchen’ activities which include serving customers, preparing food, stocking shelves and food clean-up for our home games. (No Children allowed in Snack Bar)

BBQ Manages the grill/BBQ area to cook and serve a variety of meat foods for our home games.

End of the Year Banquet (one-time event):  Assisting with the set-up/break-down for the end of year banquet.
